This bank holiday weekend in Manchester has more music on offer than you can shake a conductor’s baton at, such as Eurocultured, Hungry Pigeon and Dot to Dots festivals all taking place. But if you fancy something a little more literary then there is always UNSUNGfest which will be taking place on Saturday the 29th at The Contact Theatre on Oxford Road.
The full day event will be showcasing a variety of poets, artists, prose writers and musicians from Manchester and further afield. Some of the acts confirmed are Jon Glover, Linda Chase and Grevel Lindop from Carcanet Press; Pen-ultimate, including the 2009 BBC Radio 4 poetry slam champion Ben Mellor; Steven Waling of Salt Publishing and many many more.
The event kicks off at 10am and continues until the Mancunian (fingers crossed) sun sets.
Ticket price – £12/£10 concessions
