Friday 9th July sees a bunch of firsts from the This City Is Ours crew. Firstly it’s the starting night of their residency in Sound Control. It’s also the first time the fantastic trio Glitch Mob grace our city. And equally exciting is the premier of a brand spanking new set from The Kite of San Quentin – the musical brainchild of the TCIO crew. An act that comes highly recommended from us here at Citylifers. Check out the following link to a review of their last single and a free download:
With a plethora of remixes, reworks, singles, EPs from Ooah, Boreta & edIT respectively, who combine as the mighty Glitch Mob, these three have burned hot in the beat scene of late and look set to fireball into oblivion with their debut album Drink The Sea. With the boys booked to perform a full live show, expect artists and styles from across the board and a dance floor shaking and grinding from start to finish.
DJ support comes from residents Blood Boy & L.S.N., and a special guest appearance from Manchester’s very own a Hoya Hoya export Johnny Dub & the hotly tipped Damu.
This is yet another chapter in the bright exploits of This City Is Ours. An act that boasts some of the best music this city’s heard this side of 2010. This Friday, there’s nowhere else to be.
