Pete Lawrie is a man reminiscent of early David Gray and has been likened to Ray Lamontagne – although he seems to lack their ranges. ‘All The We Keep’ is a really well produced EP that it is full, and has the sense that, if whatever inspires the man continues to do so, then he could continue to create tunes fit for a sultan.
It contains two remixes of ‘All That We Keep’ by different aliases of Mr Lawrie, and if your music tastes are not confined to one genre, this is the path from gospel blues to a house remix. He also collaborates with the Guillemots vocalist Fyfe Dangerfield on the song ‘The Penny drop’. It concludes with a gospel-like cover of ‘Song Cry’ by Jay-Z, with Lauren Pritchard.
