Simon Poole (CityLifers Editor) says –
I had long since given up going to festivals until I attended Kendal Calling last year and found the size, location and choice of acts to be spot on. Everything is close together so that no long treks between attractions would deter you from just having a wander, as opposed to larger events where you find yourself constantly having to rush from one place to another. My highlight and many other peoples too, was The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show, which I’m overjoyed to see is back again this year on the Kaylied Stage. If you’re fed up with the overpriced and massively commercial festivals that all seem to have the same acts just doing the circuit, then I’d recommend that you get yourself to Kendal Calling this year, I know I will.
