Dan Ladd here, massive apologies for getting details wrong, it was me not corroborating my info. Thank you for setting the record straight. What didn’t need corroborating was how good the Open Eye Quartet was on Friday (i.e. very good).

Unfortunately I cannot make Stuckometer’s gig with Koboku Senju tonight but I really wish I could (I know Stuckometer are excellent too). Have fun. If you see this reply please get in touch with details of upcoming gigs etc.

Thanks for the review , excellent, enjoyed reading it. Glad you liked the night and the music, “our” music (i was a last minute addition to the players) – i am the “mysterious” bassist, not sure where “F. Kennedy” came from! i do know a musician called F(iona) Kennedy, from Sheffield. Anyway, 3/4of OPEN EYE (+KARL SVEINSSON , ex A MIDDLE SEX) will be playing tomorrow as STUCKOMETER if you fancy more of the same but a bit louder, at the CASTLE on Oldham Strreet, i am sure you have heard about it , it’s another MIE night.

The Audiences attention wavered because the venue was oversold, too hot, there was no bar (unbelievable) and many of us had been in a line outside for 45mins because the staff couldn’t get people in fast enough only to find when we did get in that bill had stated his set, I mean, come on if he gave a shit he could have delayed his start by 15 mins so all the people who paid to see him could actually see the whole set. Of course that would require him to give a shit about us, which if he did he wouldn’t play oversold venues with no a/c and no bar. I’ve seen bill many times, each time He seems to enjoy stretching the patience of his over reverent crowd. I love his music but I’m done with his gigs.

Warpaint were excellent, and I will be looking out for the next time that they play in Manchester. I just wish that they could have been on stage for a little bit longer.

I guess The Ritz wanted to put a club night on right afterwards. Hence the girls with trays full of vodka jelly entering the venue at 22:00 as everybody else was leaving.

Yep, I actually filmed him talking to you from the back, and I thought it was really fucking snide how he dismissed Nicole Bland (although she admittedly did fairly little), and tried to big himself-up to you. I thought about putting this stuff on youtube, but I think he did himself enough damage. I think the rest of his bandmantes are bigger fuck-ups than he is, which is why we had the line-up we did last Thurs.

Were you the guy who went up and talked to him at the end? It might have been that the crowd was divided up into A. Support bands, B. Journalists. C. Bewildered onlookers corralled from the bar downstairs and let in for free. I had the album prior to seeing this show, and it's marginally better than what went down, but it was a baaad show.
